Hi I'm Liz

I'm a Mormon and have been my whole life.

About Me

I'm a wife, the mother of six adult children with two daughters who have passed away, and grandmother to twenty-seven. Being wife, Mom and Grandma is most important to me. In addition to spending time with my family, I love to learn. In the Fall of 2015 I went "back to school" after 42 years to obtain a master's degree in Special Education. Since then I was lead to get a job teaching math to special students at a junior high school. That is even more challenging than getting the degree. I love it! I literally wore out my knees in three years (after 50+ years on them) doing races and sprint triathlons. I now have 2 new knees but am sidelined from the vigorous activitiy that I enjoyed. I love to hike and be out in the woods. Going to our cabin with grand-kids has to rank as one of my favorite things. Life is good!!

Why I am a Mormon

My family have been members of the church for five generations so you might say I was "born to it". In addition to family tradition, I have discovered for myself that living the gospel of Jesus Christ is a happy, healthy, very satisfying way to live. I am happy to know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that through Him I can live with my Heavenly Father and my earthly family forever.

How I live my faith

I love to serve so I have been grateful for the opportunity to serve three "missions" for the Church. The most recent was spending one day a week for two years at the local Church Employment Resource Center. Before that we got to spend one year in San Diego talking to people at the old Mormon Battalion Visitor's Center and San Diego Temple. We also spent two years in Virginia being support staff in the mission office to the mission president and young missionaries who were serving in that area. Our missions were very fulfilling and we would love to serve one again some day.

Why do Mormons believe in “eternal life?”

Liz
We believe that God has revealed through his prophets that our life did not start with this earth life. That in a pre-mortal existence we lived with our Father in Heaven God and were His children. We believe that after this earth life we will return to our Father, be resurrected at some point, and live forever. Why do we believe these things---because prophets and Holy Scriptures have taught us these truths and the validity of them has been confirmed to us through the Holy Spirit. Show more Show less
