Hi I'm Adam Torkildson

I was home schooled, and my dad was a clown for Barnum and Bailey. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in North Dakota, both of my parents are converts. I moved to Utah when they divorced, and have been here ever since. I have a wife and 2 children

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I like to be prepared, and to know that the love I have for my wife and family can last beyond death. Through the truth found in the Book of Mormon concerning the Atonement of Jesus Christ I know that I will live after mortal death if I repent and try to keep the commandments daily. I also believe that through the Temple, my ancestors have a chance to accept the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and receive baptism vicariously through me.

How I live my faith

I am the Elders' Quorum President in my ward. That means I'm responsible for the welfare of 100 or so families in my neighborhood that range from young married couples to couples that have been married 20+ years with many kids. I prepare or teach lessons for the men of these families on Sundays at church. I prepare and plan activities for these men and their wives to help strengthen their marriages and their families. I visit all of these men on a one on one basis through out the year and find out how they're really doing. All of them have struggles in life, as do I. I try and relate to them, and be a sounding board. I also try and talk to all the men in my area who don't get out to church much or are struggling in some way that makes their faith waver. I try and strengthen their faith through sincere friendship, and offering them opportunities to serve their neighbors. I also organize the men in my area to help anyone who is moving in or out of our neighborhood.
