Hi I'm Eric Nielson

I am a mechanical engineer. I enjoy golf and chess. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Eric Nielson. I am married and have four children, all boys. I am a mechanical engineer working in western Ohio. I went to Ricks College, and graduated from the University of Idaho. I enjoy chess, golf, basketball and all sports really. I have lately developed an interest in philosophy and theology, and enjoy reading about it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Mormon faith, as were my parents and grandparents, etc. It is the only religious tradition I have really ever known. I have always felt deep inside that there is a God, and have never felt the need to question that feeling. I have had a few special religious experiences regarding the Savior Jesus Christ. This has usually come from the process of repentance. These experiences are why I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I love the content of the Book of Mormon. One way or another Joseph Smith produced this great book. It is primarily the reason why a believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I attend the church regularly. I have served in many callings, and currently serve as the clerk in my ward. I served a full time mission for the church in Atlanta Georgia. My wife and I were married in the Denver temple. My wife has also served in many callings in our ward, and currently is a primary teacher. My boys enjoy participating in the Boy Scouting program, and my oldest son recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
