Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a stay at home mom of 5 kids. I play basketball, play the piano, and speak spanish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mother of 5. I have 4 beautiful daughters and a very handsome baby boy! I went on a mission to Argentina when I was 21. I love the people of Argentina and still get excited when I have opportunities to speak spanish. My hobbies are reading, sewing, blogging, and playing the piano. I am also currently the treasurer of our elementary school's parent teacher organization. I have a teaching degree but I am also very interested in photography and would love to take classes to learn more.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know for myself that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth. I was blessed to grow up in a family that taught me the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that my life has been very blessed because I knew the path that would bring me the greatest joy. I always had faith that what my parents taught me was true, but when I started high school, I knew that I needed to know for myself. I read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover for my first time. At the end there is a promise that if we pray to know if what we have read is true, we will receive an answer through the Holy Ghost. I felt so good when I prayed and I knew it was my answer. I have felt the Spirit testify to me so many other times: at church, on my mission, and in my home. I am so happy and I know it is because of my faith in the Savior and His plan. Following the Savior doesn't mean that we won't have challenges. But I know that He comforts us and lifts our burdens so they are easier to bear.

How I live my faith

I am currently the president of the primary, our church's childrens organization. On Sundays, after the regular Sacrament Meeting service, the children go to primary while the adults attend their classes. With the help of many other people, we plan a group lesson, music time, and classes for the chilren. Once a year we plan a primary program that the children present in Sacrament Meeting. It is so wonderful to work with and get to know the children of the ward. I am also a visiting teacher. A friend and I go together to visit a few of the ladies from church once a month. We share a gospel message and just visit with each other for a little bit. Not only do we develop friendships with them, but we make sure we are aware of any needs they might have so that we can help them.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

The Bible is written by ancient prophets and testifies of Jesus Christ. The teachings found in the both Old and New Testaments are very valuable to us. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be ANOTHER testament of Jesus Christ. It was also written by ancient prophets. Both are important books of scripture. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

You can know that Mormonism is true by seeking to find out if the Book of Mormon is true. If the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God, then you know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and he saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. You can know that the Book of Mormon is true by reading and praying about it. Sincerely pray for an answer and attend church. Pay attention to your feelings. The Holy Ghost will testify to you so that you can know for yourself that this is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Some people describe it as a warm feeling. If the answer doesn't come immediately, be patient. I know the answer will come. Show more Show less
