Hi I'm Angela

I 'm a college graduate and I love football. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! I was born and raised in Utah, I graduated with my degree in Exercise Science from Utah Valley University, I am the youngest of 6 kids. I went on a mission to Rochester, New York. I love playing sports and being outside and playing in the great outdoors. My favorites are football, softball, golf, tennis, basketball, fishing, hiking, and camping. I love spending time with my family and friends, and my boyfriend, Paul.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my whole life, but I had to decide for myself if I really believed in the church. Through living the principles and having faith in Jesus Christ, studying the scriptures, and praying, I found out for myself, by the witness of the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit that it is true. The gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me such great happiness. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and only through Him, we can become perfected and live Him again. I have felt the cleansing power of His Atonement in my life. HE LIVES! And He knows us personally and knows what trials we are going through. I know the Book of Mormon is another Testament of Christ, and by reading it you will come to know the Savior more. I know there is a prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson, he is God's mouthpeice on the earth. Everything I do sorrounds my beliefs in Christ and His church.

How I live my faith

I worship every Sunday with people close to my same age. We have many activities such as barbeques, get-togethers, play sports together, ect...We have an activity every Monday, I also attend the temple as often as I can. But I think the most important is living my faith daily, and living what I believe when I try to be a better person and treat others the way Christ would treat them.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Angela
The temple is sacred to the members of the Mormon church. Because it is so sacred, members need to have their lives in order with the commandments of God. There is nothing secret about temples. Everyone is invited to attend the temple, once their lives are in order to the commandments. Members of the church make promises or "covenants" with God, we learn about Jesus Christ, and the Plan of Salvation. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Angela
No, we only worship Jesus Christ. We reverence Joseph Smith for the work that he did while he was alive. He was the prophet called by God to restore Jesus Christ's church to the earth. Show more Show less

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Angela
No we don't. Polygamy was practiced in the late 1800's, because it was a commandment or a calling for a certain number of men. It wasn't for their own pleasure, it was commanded by God. Because we have a living prophet, he receives revelation from God for the benefit of His people, and President Wilford Woodruff received the revelation to stop polygamy. Any person who claims to be a Mormon and practices polygamy, is not a member of our faith. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Angela
Yes! Of course we are! We believe in and worship Jesus Christ and try to be like him. That is a Christian. He is the center of our faith. Our church has His name in it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. "Mormon" was a nickname given to us by people not of our faith. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Angela
Being a Mormon, I feel like I am like everybody else. I love to have fun, play sports, hang out with my friends, watch movies, spend time with my family, ect... but with the knowledge I have from being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have the tools like personal prayer, scripture study, and attending church, and attending the temple, that help me to better understand that the best way to find joy and happiness in this life is to know about Our Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to follow God's Commandments. This knowledge has shaped me to be the person I am, and guides me in everything I do in my life, and helps me during the hard times and trials we all go through. Show more Show less
