Hi I'm Eric

I have never, nor do I ever plan to live in Utah and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am the father of a growing family, a husband to an amazing woman and an expert time manager. My wife will say that I burn the candle at “4” ends. From a full time job, school, triathlon training, my work with the Young Men in my church and family, I have a lot going on. This busy schedule helps keep me occupied and I couldn't be happier with my situation. I am an Air Force B.R.A.T. and have lived all over this great nation. Most of my life was spent in either Northern Virginia or California (both Nor Cal and So Cal) and though I miss the ocean, surfing and the beach, the mountains of Colorado provide me a more than acceptable replacement. I enjoy life every day and live with no regrets.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was in grade school. We lived in Springfield, VA and a lot of our neighbors where LDS. Curiosity got to my parents and they inquired about the church. About a year later we were baptized and a year after that, sealed, as an eternal family, in the Washington DC temple. Though I was baptized a member of the church when I was younger, I don't think I experienced my true conversion until my senior year in High School. That was the first time I knelt, on my own, in prayer and asked Heavenly Father if the church was true, if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith was a true prophet. The answer I received was accompanied by peacefulness and calmness and I couldn't deny what I had felt. Shortly thereafter, I served a two year mission in the Philippines, which further solidified my testimony of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I work with the Young Men in my ward in helping them fulfill their Duty to God, working on Scouting activities, and living worthily enough to exercise the priesthood of God. With that said, my primary role is to help them develop a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I have also been called to be a home teacher. The role of a home teacher allows me the opportunity to serve a few families in our ward. I visit with them on a monthly basis, share a message of hope from the Gospel of Jesus Christ and offer assistance any way I can. I am not ashamed of my membership in this church and my relationship with our Savior. I love our Savior and I am in constant awe of his everlasting love. Though I’m not perfect at it, I strive to always read my scriptures and say my daily prayers. I rely on the Lord for a lot in my life. I stumble from time to time but I know I can always count on Him to provide strength and forgiveness through the power of repentance.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ written about people that lived on the American continent. It goes hand in hand with the Bible and provides an additional witness that God lives and Jesus is his Only Begotten Son and there is a plan of happiness for all to partake of. I firmly believe that the Book of Mormon is scripture that speaks the truthfulness of the Gospel. I know this because I have read the book numerous times and the spirit has born witness to me that it is true. Because of this spiritual witness no one can convince me otherwise. Show more Show less
