Hi I'm Steve Rockwood

I'm a blessed husband, proud father and and very happy Coloradan, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My eternal family is everything to me. I am a richly blessed husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. I get real excited in life when I have the chance to watch my wife and boys succeed. I am very spoiled having spent most of my time working to build new ideas or playing on a Colorado mountain, a California beach or on a court of some kind with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is fun, exciting and an extermely rewarding way to live. The happiest and most admirable people I know are devoted members of the Church. As a young boy I watched my parents and their friends really having fun being actively involved in the Church. By their examples and through personal childhood experiences I learned early of the love that my Heavenly Father has for me. As a teenager, I strived to find out for myself if the doctrines of the Church were true. Amongst other things, I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to God asking him if it was true scripture along with the Bible. I felt a confirmation from the Holy Ghost that it was indeed true, and that Joseph Smith who translated it was a prophet of God, that he did restore the Church of Jesus Christ on the earth and that we have living prophets today who can guide and lead us. Throughout my life, while I have tried to do what is right, I often fall short. Those times when I need to be forgiven or need to forgive others I personally experience the healing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Every day I try to rely on the love of my Heavenly Father, the healing power of the Atonement of my Savior and the influence, guidance and comfort of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I have found in my life that the greatest blessings come from small and simple means. Simple sincere prayers are answered by simple and small promptings of the Spirit. Simple acts of obedience and faith bring about huge blessings and opportunities. At times I get caught up in the complications of the world but thankfully, I can return back to the simple truths of the gospel and find peace of mind. I try to share what I have learned with others, especially with youth, who seem to always bring new life and vitality to this otherwise complicated world.
