Hi I'm Eric

I'm a brother, a son, a friend, a doctor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in several places in the United States and Victoria, Australia. I studied chemistry as an undergraduate in college and later graduated from medical school. I am currently a medical resident studying rehabilitation medicine. I enjoy running, music, computers and hiking. I have a passion for books of all types.

Why I am a Mormon

There are so many things I see around me each day that tell me there is a God - a night sky full of stars, an orange and purple sunset, a green mountain meadow, or a new baby softly breathing. Also, my studies of the intricacies of the human body - from arms and legs down to molecules and atoms - how it all fits together, how it functions and works second to second is also a testament of God's existence. Throughout my life I have seen people trying to find fulfillment in many different ways. In my current career I often see people seeking fulfillment through the pursuit of prestige, wealth or success. What I have observed in others and personally experienced in my own life is that while I can enjoy my career and find satisfaction in doing my best, true and lasting fulfillment is only available through Jesus Christ and his teachings. Whether it be through the principles of service to others, or through family relationships or one of a thousand other principles of Christ's gospel, I find the true and lasting fulfillment I want in Christ's church.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in many ways, Sometimes it is by visiting those who need a visit... Sometimes it is by donating my time, resources and energies in the service of others... Sometimes it is by talking to others about the peace I find in Christ's gospel... Sometimes it is through personal worship, prayer, scripture study or meditation about Christ's example and teachings... Sometimes it is by sacrificing a short-lived pleasure in exchange for long-term happiness... Sometimes it is by being the only one who won't do something that I know isn't right, or trying to be the only one who will do something that I know is right... Sometimes it is simply by giving a smile or encouraging word or anonymous random acts of kindness...

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Eric
The ultimate goal is to do our best to follow the perfect example set by Jesus Christ when he was on the earth...to live the same way he would in our place and to mold our hearts to be like his. Obviously, this is not something that happens overnight. Rather, it is the quest of a lifetime to follow Christ's example in all things and become the best possible version of ourselves. Often when we realize we have failed to live as Christ did in some matter, we must course-correct, but thankfully Christ's sacrifice has made it possible for us to do so and truly change...
