Hi I'm Brandon Goss

I'm an athlete. I'm a woodworker. I'm a husband and a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was not raised a Mormon. In fact, I was raised with standards, but not with any Christian or religious background. I was raised as an athlete and an outdoorsman. I love any sport that involves a ball. My new passion in life is being a husband and a father. My dear wife and I have three beautiful children that fill our lives with such joy and happiness, that I still can't believe it is all true.

Why I am a Mormon

At age 15, I realized something was happening within me. I realized that something was missing. After studying with several other faiths of Christianity, I still felt unsure of who I was and what I was supposed to be doing. After meeting a Mormon at school, I was convinced to give the missionaries a shot. It only took two weeks for the void in my heart to be filled. I am a Mormon because I now know who I am what my purpose is in this life, but also in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving others the way Christ and Heavnly Father love them. I try and not see any faults or problems in who they are, but only see who they can be and the good they already bring to life. I live my life in such a way that when people see the joy that radiates from me, they will naturally want to feel it too.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Brandon Goss
We believe that grace is an "enabling power" through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Without Him, we can do nothing of merit. But through Him, we can do all things that are required of us. With the grace of Christ, we can repent and become cleansed of past sins or transgressions. With grace, we can overcome weaknesses and turn them into strengths. With grace, we endure trials and hardships. Most importantly, with the grace of Jesus Christ, we can return to live with our loving Heavnly Father. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Brandon Goss
We love and cherish the Bible, especially the words of Christ as found in the New Testament. We believe the Bible to be the "word of God, as far as it is translated correctly." Most people get hung up on that last part--as far as it is translated correctly--but this should not be so. It is common knowledge that the Bible we have is not an exact replica of what was penned by Moses, Peter, Paul and other Prophets and Apostles. It is a part of the natural translation process that when men or women who are not Prophets and Apostles are translating ancient Hebrew, Greek, Latin, etc. that errors will occur. It is of a sad note to also recognize that some individuals when translating purposively changed text and altered the translation. However, in both of those cases, we still adhere to the teachings of the Bible and will continue to do so until the welcomed day when our Savior and Redeemer comes to personally teach us upon the earth during the Millennium.
