Hi I'm Megan

I'm a country girl. I helped my family build three houses. I'm a runner, an artist, and a dancer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college graduate. I recently earned a bachelors degree in Health science. During the summer I work as an exterminator for my dad's business. No not selling...I actually visit people's houses and spray for bugs. Currently I am working at a Brazilian Restaurant. I have helped my family build three houses. We built one together as a family and moved in...then moved across the street. I also helped my sister build hers as well. Our next project is a barn. We have chickens and bees... so everyday I help gather the eggs and every once in a while I check up on the bees. Then we all enjoy the delicious honey. I love being involved. I do pageants.... from actually participating...to mentoring other girls as contestants...to judging. I have love getting all dressed up and showing off my talents. I'm an artist. Although I wouldn't consider myself a professional. I have drawn, painted, sculpted...since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I've drawn portraits in two minutes and thirty seconds and even murals on house walls... I have even sold a few pieces of artwork. I'm a dancer. I started out ballroom dancing in high school. I learned waltz, cha cha, samba, rumba, mambo, swing. I am now learning to country swing dance. I love sports. Flag Football and Ultimate Frisbee are some of my favorites. I'm a runner. I sprinted for high school and part of college. Now I just enjoy running on my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that were all members of this church. But as I have grown and learned of the gospel of Jesus Christ I have received personal witnesses of it's truthfulness. It has come slowly along the years...here a little and there a little. At times when I wondered about the truthfulness of this church I prayed and searched the scriptures. I have felt the spirit testify to me of it's truthfulness. I have shared this gospel with others and have seen the difference it makes in their lives and the light of Christ light up their countenance. This has also strengthened my testimony to see them make that journey. My Faith is strengthened everyday as I continue to learn and grow and draw closer to my Father in Heaven and his son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I recently returned from serving a full time mission in Lisbon, Portugal. Where I studied the gospel and taught others about the Church and Heavenly Father's plan for us. Now that I am home I am a ward missionary. I am responsible to seek out those in my own community. I visit members of the church as well as other people in the community and share lessons of Christ. I also have the opportunity to speak at church. I love sharing the experiences I had in Portugal and how my testimony has grown.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Megan
The atonement includes Christ's suffering in the Garden of Gethsemene, his death on the cross, and his resurrection on the third day. This was necessary because without this sacrifice we would be unworthy and physically unable to dwell in the presence of God. Because all of us our sinners Christ suffered for each of our sins in the Garden of Gethsemene. He lived a perfect life so he was able to pay the price for our sins. As the son of God he was also able to save us from mortality. Although each of us will die, because of Christ's resurrection we will also each be resurrected. Thus enabling us to rid ourselves of sin through faith, repentence, and baptism, and faithful endurence, as well as beng able to live in immortality with our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
