Hi I'm John

I grew up in Arizona. I am a computer salesman, that is happily married and a father of five children and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to the love of my life for over 30 years. I am the father of four sons and one daughter. I am also a grandfather of one granddaughter. I absolutely love to fly fish and have taught each of my children. I also enjoy playing golf and enjoy playing with my children as well. I am an avid college football fan and Major League Baseball fan. I spend my career enjoying the blessing of selling for a large computer company. I enjoy people and have a lot of friends. I have lived in Arizona most of my life. I have spent the last 10 years watching at least a thousand sporting events watching my children play youth and high school football, baseball, softball, basketball and even badminton. I am truly blessed to have joy in my life and a great relationship with my wife and children.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that practiced the Mormon faith. I had ancestors from all directions that immigrated to Salt Lake City from many parts of the world as Mormon converts. It is almost in my DNA as far as a culture. When I was in high school growing up in Tucson, I had to determine what I wanted in my life. I needed to find my own faith and not rely on the faith of my parents or siblings or grandparents or ancestors. I was growing up and needed to decide what was right for me. I was blessed with understanding parents that I could talk to and discuss many things in life. I was physically large and at times teased growing up and had times of discouragement and a weak self esteem. I realized that I needed to know why I was on this earth. I had been taught by my mother that I could drop to my knees and speak with my Father in Heaven. I remember asking my Heavenly Father for help in understanding what was the right direction for me to go in my life. I asked if what I had been taught was actually The Church of Jesus Christ on the earth and the church that had all of the authority to prepare the earth for the Lord's second coming. I had been taught that by the Gift of the Holy Ghost, that I could know the truth of all things. I had a feeling in my body that filled my entire being that told me that the faith that I had learned and my beliefs in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was and is correct. From that moment forward I have never looked back and I know this church is the Lord's church on the earth.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to show my faith by having been given responsibilities for the past 25 years to work with the youth of our church. This has been a true blessing to me and my family. I have been a Boy Scout adviser and youth Sunday School teacher and an assistant to a bishop with responsibilities for the youth in our congregation. I am now serving as the bishop of my congregation and am still blessed with the opportunity to work with the youth of our church. I have seen miracles and experienced miracles. I have seen lives changed from difficult dark places and brought into the light because of the blessing of Jesus Christ's atonement. I will continue to server wherever I am asked and whenever I am asked. I believe that we are given the responsibility to love the Lord. The only way to truly love the Lord is by serving others.
