Hi I'm Chad

I'm father of four. I'm an author. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for seven years. Currently, I am an insurance agent, and author and a college student. As a teenager, I was involved in Boy Scouts and I was a wrestler. After high school, I served in the Armed Forces and then a two year mission for the Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. When I'm not working, studying or playing with kids, I love to listen to music, watch movies or catch a hockey game.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life but spent my teenage years trying to avoid it. I had to make my fair share of mistakes and do some pretty stupid things before I realized what my religion meant to me. Most people wish that life, marriage and parenting came with manuals. The Church does just that. It has given me guidelines on how to live my life, how to treat my wife, raise my kids, run a business and treat others. It gives me faith and hope every day. There is no question I can ask that I can't get an answer to. I know that by living the standards of the Church, I am happy and I know that by teaching my family these things, they too will have a chance to live that happiness. In tough times like we face now the only thing we can find hope in is our individual faith. Even if everything around us is failing, the promises of the Lord never do and so I look to and lean on Him always.

How I live my faith

My family and I read our scriptures every night. We pray together as a family and also individually. At least once a week, we dedicate the entire evening to a family activity. I spent several years teaching the youth of the Church. For those youth that went to High School, we met each morning before school to review the lessons in the Old and New Testaments. I visit a few families in the Church each month as friends but also to make sure they are doing well. I take every chance I get to help other people. If there is someone who needs a ride, help moving or just a few minutes to talk, I make myself available.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We believe that God is fair. Christ taught that all men need to be baptized yet there are billions that have lived who never had a chance to hear about Christ much less be baptized. So, in our temples, we are baptized for those who never had that chance so that they have the opportunity to return and live with God. Show more Show less
