Hi I'm Colleen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a senior citizen and I do a lot of family history, writing and researching. I also collect up the old photos of ancestors and copy them for entering into scrapbooks for my grandchildren. I have four sons and seven grandchildren and as yet none have joined the Church. I like to travel, love my country, love my Church, and have a doctoral degree. I have a wonderful calling and that is as editor of the Relief Society Newsletter, which i bring out and distribute to the sisters once a month. It is my belief in my Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ that helps me do this and do all things that are righteous

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the missionaries knocked on my door and told me about the Church and I knew their words were true and wanted to be a member of the Saviour's Kingdom. It means everything in this world and in the Eternities to me. I know it is His kingdom. I know He has a body of flesh and bones, He is the Christ, the one and only true Redeemer and only begotten son of Heavenly Father Who also has a body of flesh and bones. I know these things for myself, for the Holy Ghost has witnessed the truth to me

How I live my faith

Becuase I love my Saviour's Kingdom, I have worked in his Kingdom as a Temple worker, and also as Welfare and Employment specialist, encouraging others to be self reliant and how to prepare, find, embrace new careers or anything else that is needed to help them in the job market. I keep the Sabbath Day holy and attend the meetings, partaking of the Sacrament and renewing my covenants with my Saviour. At home after the meetings, i continue to focus on the Saviour by watching Church DVDs or reading Scriptures while I rest. I live with my son at the moment and endeavour to do my best by example by living my faith

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is perfect, all wise, and all-powerful; the ruler of the universe. He is also merciful, kind, and just. He is our Father in Heaven. We are created in His image (Genesis 1:27). He has a body that looks like ours, but God’s body is immortal, perfected, and has a glory that words can’t describe. Because we are His children, He knows and loves each of us individually. He has a plan to help His children find joy in this life and return to live with Him when this life is over. This is my firm belief and Testimony for I know of Him myself. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes! Husbands and wives can be together for time and Eternity by being sealed together in the Lord's Holy House - the Temple. Joseph Smith was instrumental in bringing about this doctrine, for through the Lord and the Powerful Moroni, he restored the Lord's Kingdom in its fullness in these last days Show more Show less
