Hi I'm Jess

Born and raised in Hawaii, been converted, married and sealed in the Laie Hawaii Temple, and never been happier!

About Me

A wife of a wonderful hardworking and very talented husband. A mother of 3 healthy and beautiful children 2 boys, 1 girl ages 13, 12 and 10. Currently, I'm am a Child Care Provider, and I'm working on my nursing license. I eventually want to work in Labor and Delivery. Just four years ago I was truly converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ. After, being inactive for many years, starting from a young age, I decided that the only way that I was going to be truly happy was if I invited the Lord back into my life, for good. Since than, i've never felt so complete, and at peace. My cup is full, and I have that burning desire to share with all whom are ready to receive it. I'll never regret the day I stopped avoiding the missionaries, and decided to listen to the still small voice in my heart that was there all along. The Lord never gave up on me, and even though I felt unworthy, he embraced me with open arms back into His fold. I am blessed, and so very grateful, but most importantly, I know now that I am a daughter of God.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter Day Saint or as the world calls us Mormon, because the power of the Holy Ghost testified to me that this is the True Church of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, and the Priesthood has been restored with all it's power, principles and glory. I took the time to read, ponder and pray about everything I got my hands on. I investigated, I asked questions, and I searched for answers through all the standard works in the church, including videos. I was more than satisfied. Everything came together, all my questions were answered, and than some. Just the organization and structure of the Church itself, it's all so perfect, just like our Savior. I love my family very much, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only Church I know on the earth today, that offers exaltation with our families for Eternity, in the presence of our Creator.

How I live my faith

I have a wonderful calling. I am the 2nd counselor in the young women's program from ages 12-18. I help to teach, lead and guide the young women in the way the Lord would have me do so. It's awesome because being inactive at a young age, I never got to experience young women's in my youth. Now, I get to have those experiences, and I live to the best of my ability all that I learn and teach my young women in classs. What a growing experience. It's strengthened my faith and testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Because the callings in the Church are "from on high". Everything you do is for the Lord, and in return the members know, the Lord will bless them for it. The members choose for themselves to accept or reject the calling. When the Lord himself was on the earth, teaching, and healing, and serving, he received no payment. Likewise, we must follow by example and do the same. Every member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints support themselves and their families through outside employment. The Church and it's members practice self reliance. Even the President himself and all the General Authorities support themselves through outside employment. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, but we are forever grateful to him for his obediance to the Lord, and his faithfulness till the end. He translated the Book of Mormon with help from on high so that we can have and read it today. If he had not done so, we would not have known the Lord visited "His other Sheep' in the Americas. Show more Show less
