Hi I'm Kevin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I would consider myself just an ordinary guy... I'm happily married - have been for over 30 years -- with four kids who make me very proud. My life has had a lot of variety but my family has been my one constant. My best friend in all the world is my sweetheart, my wife. She has been my "rock" and has been a terrific mother to my children -- now my 3 grandchildren. We live a simple life but we've been fortunate that our needs have always been met. We work hard and are grateful for all our blessings - family, home, friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a teenager during the Vietnam war and just missed the draft. The war was winding down at the time and was very unpopular. I was nervous. While watching television one day, I saw a commercial which, I believe, best describes why I am a Mormon... In this commercial there was a reporter randomly asking people on the street to define the word "Peace". There were several answers, of course, but the last person to answer affected me greatly. She said, "The natrual order of things." That answer struct me very powerfully. And when I was approached by the Mormon missionaries at age 17 to hear their gospel message, the same feeling came over me when I heard them speak... The restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the "natural order of things." It all makes perfect sense to me, and has been a source of spritual strength and guidence in my life. I will forever be grateful to a loving Heavenly Father for the goodness He has brought into my life. I love Him... and I love His Son. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

While not completely unique to other religions, Latter-Day Saint people strive to live their faith every day -- this is what I try to do, as well. There is a principle of life and religion: We reap what we sow. I have found that as I try and live my faith everyday I am happier, I am able to face challenges with more optimism, I seem to have greater compassion for others, a clearer focus and direction in life, stronger friendships with others, and in general just a full and rich life. Living my faith daily does this for me...

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

I love my wife and children. The thought of not having them with me forever is heart-wrenching and inconceivable. Our belief in "eternal life" includes not only living forever in the presence of God, but being there, linked by the power of His Holy Priesthood, with our families --- forever! What a wonderful and glorious concept.. and I believe it is true. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

God is our Heavenly Father. We were created in his image. We are his children. He loves us - perfectly. He is interested in what we do - temporally as well as spiritually. This knowledge gives me great comfort. Show more Show less
