Hi I'm Shelley

I live in Minnesota. I love to dance. I'm a recent college grad. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from college with a BS in Exercise Science. I just landed my first job as a health coach! I'm excited to start my career and move forward with life. I love to be active and hang out with my family and friends. I absolutely love to dance. I like to stay positive and look on the brightside of things. My ultimate goal in life is to be happy, and the church helps me achieve that!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. The church and the gospel bring happiness and joy to my life that I just wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. Being Mormon makes me want to be a better person--to serve, to teach, to learn, to grow. The gospel brings me closer to my savior, Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior and redeemer, I know that he atoned for my sins, and I know that he lives. The way I have come to know this is through his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. I want to be more like my savior and what better way to achieve that then to serve the people around me? Service doesn't have to be huge either--it's in the little things that make the biggest difference. I also live my faith by praying constantly, I always strive to have a prayer in my heart. The Lord is aware of our needs--all we have to do is ask. Prayer works. I've seen it in my own life and in the lives of those around me.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

The Temple is considered the house of the Lord, they're very sacred and holy to us. Only worthy Mormons are allowed to enter the temple, and by worthy I mean that they hold true to the standards set by the church, anyone who goes into the temple needs a temple recommend which they get through a member of their bishopric. The temple is not secret, but sacred. Show more Show less

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

I dress in my best for church! Something that shows respect for who I am worshiping, which to me is a nice dress or skirt. I celebrate all holidays! My favorites being Christmas and Easter for their special meaning. Show more Show less
