Hi I'm Travis

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and kids are the most important thing in the world to me. I try and love to spend as much time as I can whenever possible. I have been accused of having too many hobbies. I enjoy hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, caving (spelunking), exploring ancient ruins, motorcycling, 4x4ing, canoeing, outdoor cooking, exploring, shooting, archery, ATV riding, animal watching, film making, survival skills, preparedness, photography and just spending time outdoors with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Mormon when I was young; however, I fell away from the church when I was a teenager. I went many years without the church in my life until I finally realized that the only happiness in life if doing what Heavenly Father wants us to do. The happiness of the world is short lived and does not last. The happiness our Heavenly Father offers is forever. I remember a distinct time in my life where I had to make a choice and I could move forward and continue to seek the happiness of man or do what I knew was right and find the peace and eternal happiness that our Heavenly Father gives. As I made the choice to follow our Heavenly Father's plan I felt true peace and happiness come into my life. I know that our Heavenly Father lives and that he sent his son, even Jesus Christ, here and that he took upon himself the sins of the world, that he died for us, and then was resurrected, and that he now lives. I know that by following the commandments and doing all we cant to endure to the end that we will be blessed and can find the happiness and peace we desire. I know that as we apply the atonement in our lives and do all we can we can grow closer to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing all I can daily to be more like Jesus Christ. I do my best to read my scriptures daily, do say my prayers, to have family prayer with my wife and kids and to do all I can do to be a good example to them. I also attend church weekly as well as several other leadership meetings. I am one of the leader of our ward and do all I can to follow the example of Jesus Christ to administer to and do all that I can to help those in our ward and community. I go out on visits once a week and visit members of our church, to check on them both temporally and spiritual in addition to letting them know I love and care for them. I am also assigned several families that I visit with at least monthly and do all I can to help them. One family is a single mother with 4 children so I have the great blessing of helping them with things around the house, yard work, etc. What a blessing it is for me to see how much my simple service can help bless the lives of those I am able to serve. When I an not doing service in church I am doing all I can to do service for those in my community and my neighbors.
