Hi I'm Joel

I am a second generation Mormon. I'm currently trudging toward a legal education while working fulltime and loving my family.

About Me

My parents joined the church seperately after marriage, then raised 8 of us 2nd generationers. Well they eventually divorced and were better for it. You need two willing individuals to form a union. Any who, I'm the only currently active kid from that union. I'm schooling and was lucky enough to find a willing Mormon lioness and we bore two Mormon cubs. I also currently struggle with an unfulfilling job but enjoy the varied interactions I have there. I enjoy theorizing about the future and how unprepared we'll all be for it. I also enjoy spicy slim-jims.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents raised me to be this way and it's only ever brought good things to me. I am active in my beliefs because I've seen what life can be like without them, ei. my siblings. Plus, it feels good to be part of something that has continued since man was on earth, you know, with prophets and then apostles. Gods been sending them for thousands of years, he's not going to stop right before the end. I've received my witness through the Spirit confirming this as promised in the Book of Mormon. And that same witness keeps confirming the teaching of our modern prophets as I learn from them.

How I live my faith

I live the standard rules and commandments, like the Ten Commandments, Jesus' rules toward love and forgiveness, and modern day instruction like wisdom in health, avoiding negative media, and ways to strengthen my family. I think it's funny that whether you tell people you're Mormon or not, they realize it at some point. Maybe it's because I avoid swearing, or the way I talk about my family and weekend church attendance, or maybe it's just because I'm odd. So I guess there are some things I do and other things I don't do that defines me as a Mormon. And some things I do that I probably shouldn't that defines me as a work in progress. i attend church weekly, hold and support duties in the church (ei. teaching, speeching, and helping), as well as learn and live stuff from the words of the prophets at home. I attempt to teach my family the same.
