Hi I'm Jensen

I'm a college student. I work with at risk youth. I am an avid reader and an occasional traveler. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying Therapeutic Recreation. I work with at risk youth who have committed misdemeanors in the hopes that what they learn will help keep them out of the system and put them on a more productive path. I love to travel, though school and work keep me tied close to home most of the time. Put me in a kayak or on a paddle-board and I'll be gone for hours. My family is extremely important to me and I never miss an opportunity to take a little road trip to see them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be so. I've found happiness and peace by embracing the gospel. The things I've been taught make sense to me. I know I've found the path that God intended for me to take. The Book of Mormon in particular has touched my soul. It is definitely a book inspired by God. I used to wonder where I would be had I not found the gospel. Now I just express how grateful I am that I've got it in my life. Whatever path I may have taken is no longer important to me because I know that I am on the best path. I'm on the path to live with God again.

How I live my faith

My faith is at the core of who I am. I start every day with a prayer. This has two purposes. First, I get to speak to my Heavenly Father, and second, it reminds me of who I am and what I believe. I'm not perfect. I make mistakes every day, but I certainly try to live a Christ centered life. I look for opportunities to serve others. Most of the time this involves something as simple as giving a smile to those who could do with a little cheer. College is hard, and it's easy to get bogged down in the daily routine, but everyone could be just a bit happier if they just remember that the Lord is in it all. I strive to remember that the Lord knows me and loves me and I should behave in a way that is worthy of His love.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

To know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true requires faith and prayer. We are told that when we pray with real intent, meaning we will act upon the answer we receive, that we will receive an answer throught the power of the Holy Ghost. He will testify to us the truth of all things if we ask with a sincere heart. Show more Show less
