Hi I'm Trey

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am at a turning point in my life whereas I desire to be an example of change in a persons heart, and endeavor to persevere, by truthful adherence to the guidelines the church suggests to make a persons existence more enjoyable and full. I have been struggling, but not giving in. It's just a weakness in me and a lack of faith on my part. I know this. I have to start over and try and regain the new convert feeling. Pray for me

Why I am a Mormon

To be painfully honest, like a lot of young men I guess, I joined this church because of a girl. Cut me some slack! I was only 19 after all but, I did believe all I heard through the discussions from the missionaries who had the same first name.."Elder"....weird. My grandmother had instilled in me/us a firm belief in God, Christ and the HG so I verified everything the elders said, in the Bible. It was all there and plain to see. I know my judgement was most likely skewed due to my romantic verbirations at the time so I may have not joined the church for the best of reasons. That was 1984, however and I am still here and still trying to achieve perfection.. I'm a little (lot) older now, of course, and thru these years I have fought and battled; had extreme highs and lows and several temporary excursions and researches into other religions that I thought might "fit" me better. Being a Mormon is hard! Just finding my way the wrong way, I guess. Dadgum free will! I am here to stay, however. Like, for eternity. This church is the only reason I am alive now, I truly believe. Basically, it's taking all my life, up to this point, to grow up and realize the search for truth is a life long endeavor. Not easy greasy... If it was easy, only girls would do it.

How I live my faith

Up to this point, as of 2 weeks ago, I am not pleased with my participation as a contributing member of society or this church. I have always been a fervent believer, but luke warm at best as an example. I am 50 years old, and know, that finally, I've gotta do this right.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. We are adamant in our belief that he was an inspired man, called upon by the grace of God to restore a religion not seen since the death of the original 12 apostles. Many thought the true church of Christ was void, taken from mankind. But, due to a young mans faith, was restored to us in these latter-days. In his short time on earth, through persecutions and trials we "mormons" know intimately, an amazing work and a wonder was brought forth, through Joseph Smith and many other saints who assisted him in his tasks set forth by Heavenly Father. To know us, is to know our history. It is an amazing story. Show more Show less
