Hi I'm Kynan Pearson

I'm a Mormon and I'm currently serving a mission in Papua New Guinea

About Me

I'm a 25 year old male who loves his sports rugby, touch footy, American football, basketball. You name it I like to play it. I enjoy spending time with family, watching girly movies with Nan, watching all the other movies, mucking around with friends, institute, being a guy, hanging out, swimming, chilling at the beach, dancing and most other things but I have given all that up for 2 years to come and serve and teach the people of Papua New Guinea as a missionary. I now teach, serve, help and become friends with the beautiful people in Papua New Guinea as a missionary, a representative of the church and a disciple of Christ. I and the other missionaries work, sweat and walk mountains just to be able to help some of these people know about more about Jesus Christ and his Gospel and Heavenly Father who loves them so much but sometimes they just don't know. I come from a mix of a family where I have 2 mother figures (my grandmother and mother), my father left us when I was young but my only father figure (grand father) Robert has done so much for me that I just seemed to turn out okay :). I am not perfect as a missionary, as a son or even as a person but I try. I'm grateful for my interesting family and especially my mother who did the best she could when she was so young. I am who I am because of my family and what the Lord has done with my life.....without him I am nothing!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have been Mormon all my life. While I have been going with to church with my parents since I can remember it was always because it was what THEY thought was right, so I kind of took there word for it. Until I was 15 at a young mens camp where everyone was sharing their testimonies and that they knew the church was true, that the Book of Mormon was scripture and Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I was too wondering why I did not know the same thing, I had a desire to know and at that very moment I felt a huge warmth in my heart, I believe it to be the Holy ghost telling me this is where I'm meant to be and meant to be doing and that this gospel, Jesus Christ lives and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was restored as the same Church that Jesus Christ organised. I know that if you read the Book of Mormon and desire to know whether it's true or not and whether this Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. You can find out for yourself, just the way I did.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an example of Jesus Christ in all that I do. He is at the head of this Church as the name states "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". I try to follow his example love all those around me, help everyone (whether it be family, friend or enemy). I am not perfect and I don't do it all the time but I continually strive to do this every day. I go to Church every Sunday to learn more about Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and this Gospel that I love. Everything that I learn on Sunday and during the week is what I try to implement in my life. I love my faith and I believe in all that it teaches and I will try to live it every day!

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Kynan Pearson
We as mormons do believe that the Bible is holy scripture and the word of god as far as it is translated correctly, we teach from it, learn from it and council from it just like the Book of Mormon. Together they contain all the gospel truths that Jesus Christ taught and all the things we need to know and understand. Together they walk hand in hand to witness that Jesus is the Christ and that we can apply scriptures and stories in there to ourselves as both these records (especially the Book of Mormon) are for our benefit. How can I know Mormonism is true?

Kynan Pearson
You can know Mormonism is true through prayer to your heavenly father, who loves us and wants us to communicate with him daily! All you need is a desire to know it is true and real intent, having faith in Jesus Christ that an answer will come. If you don't know how to pray you open up with Dear Heavenly father, say the things you are grateful for eg. Your job, family, car or the day you've had. Then you can ask for anything you may need and if you want ask if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is Christs church again restored, you will receive the answer. You then close with in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. This is how you can know it to be true, your answer may be small. It might be a small voice telling you it's true, it might be a burning in your heart but if done with REAL INTENT (willing to act on the answer) then it will come to you just like it has to me :).
