Hi I'm Allison

I'm a wife, mother, nurse - and - I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and was raised a Mormon. After studying nursing at a university I worked as an intensive care nurse. My husband and I have one beautiful daughter. I love running, cycling, camping, scuba diving, traveling, baking, etc.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised a Mormon, I make the decision every day to stay strong and faithful to that which I believe. God's plan for me is one of the greatest things I have learned as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ: I know that God is our loving Heavenly Father. He wants us to be happy and become as He is. To make this possible he sent His son, Jesus Christ, to be the Savior and example for all men. It means so much to me to know of the love Heavenly Father and Jesus have for me and every other person on earth. When life gets tough, I can always turn to God in prayer. He will always support me and strengthen me. It doesn't mean problems go away--but He will help me get through them. The ancient prophets have taught this plan since Adam, and it makes sense to me that God, in His perfect love, has called a prophet in our day to continue teaching this. Prophets teach us that we are supposed to have joy in this earthly life, and that after this life we can live in joy eternally with the ones we love.

How I live my faith

I have been living outside my home country (United States) and it has been a great comfort to meet other people in Switzerland who share my beliefs. My husband, daughter and I attend church meetings every Sunday. There, we learn from the scriptures with friends who are trying to live the teachings of Christ just as we are. We also enjoy attending other activities our ward has. I am a teacher of the youth in our ward (congregation), specifically the young women ages 12-18. Each Sunday I help teach a lesson about the gospel of Jesus Christ. During the week the other youth leaders and I plan an activity for the youth to get together and have fun while strengthening their faith in Christ.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

The gospel teaches us to become like Jesus Christ. He is kind, loving, forgiving, patient, selfless, etc. if we can become more like Him by living the gospel, we will make all of our relationships better--with family and with friends. Marriage between a many and woman was ordained of God: He wants for us to have this relationship so we can have families and learn and grow together while on earth. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches that families are central to Heaceny Father's plan of happiness for His children. By learning more about the gospel we becme better people who are more Christ-like. As we become better people, our family becomes stronger and grows together. By sharing this faith in God, we are able to handle the difficulties of the world and troubles we face in life each day.
