Hi I'm Cody

I'm a fanatic of 70's and 80's music, I'm a full-time student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello friends, my name is Cody. I went on a mission to Los Angeles, California (Spanish speaking). It was one of the best things I've ever done, I grew a lot and met amazing people. I love 70's and 80's music. That's my passion. I enjoy learning about the bands from the 70's and 80's and seeing connections. I enjoy playing football, hanging out with friends, as well as music and movie trivia. I will be a friend to anyone and I love this church. I have no idea where I would be without this church. I absolutely know that God is there and that He cares. I know that His Son Jesus Christ died for us so we could come back to God and Christ. I have felt them speak to me, answer my prayers and give me comfort. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church, the true church of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and it goes hand in hand with the Bible. Joseph Smith was a prophet just like Abraham, Moses and others. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, that is who I am and I'm not ashamed to say it. He is my Savior, my Redeemer. I know that if I do what He asks of me, I can be truly happy and have eternal life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My grandpa was a great example to me. He was a priesthood holder and was very faithful. I was baptized at age 8. When I was in high school, I went to early morning seminary. I always felt the church was true but any doubt was erased as I went to seminary. A monumental event was when I recieved my Patriarchal Blessing. It was amazing to me that a man that I barely met knew what I had only mentioned to Heavenly Father. I knew the Priesthood he held was of God then. A few years later my mom had very serious liver damage that was bringing my mom near to death. Then miraculously my mother was given a priesthood blessing and her liver was healed. The doctor said she wasn't supposed to make it and she was given another chance. Those things didn't make me believe, I believed before they occured but they confirmed my beliefs. I have read the Book of Mormon and I know it's true. Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God as is our prophet today. Jesus Christ is my Savior as well as yours. Heavenly Father has blessed me beyond measure. I testify that I know He is there. I have heard Him speak to me through the scriptures.

How I live my faith

I served in the California Los Angeles Mission and I spoke Spanish. What I learned is that with God helping you all things are possible. God has asked me to spend two years of my life preaching the gospel and to learn the Spanish language. I know that anything Heavenly Father asks us to do is possible. I would not have given up two years of this life to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ if I didn't know with all my soul that it was the truth. That is why I left on a mission, because I know with all my heart that this is the true church and I want others to feel the same things I have felt and become as happy as I am. Heavenly Father loves all of us and want us to come back to them and they have showed us how to do that. How blessed I am to have the opportunity to be a part of that great work of helping to gather His Children and to teach them more about His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. I truly have been blessed beyond my realm of understanding.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

In short, no we don't. Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God but was still just a man. The reason why he is so important is because he did so much for the salvation of men. He gave his life for Jesus Christ's Church. He was the instrument in God's hand to restore the true church back on the earth. Joseph Smith was a great man but we do not worship him.
