Hi I'm Jim

I am daddy to 4 great kids, a great fan of my wife, an engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an Engineer interested in manufacturing. I love to camp in the forests of the Northwest and teach my kids about the outdoors. I enjoy starting projects that require a hammer or shovel, but rarely finish them quickly. I live far from my birthplace and miss my family. The gospel, and the people within, are my family and I'm grateful.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that there is more to life than the monotony that we often find ourselves in. Life is to be lived, appreciated and done with purpose. The gospel gives that to me. As a father, I know that I have been given 4 gifts of God to teach and to help them to find Him. Life is a trial that presents opportunities for growth, that growth creates strength, knowledge, happiness and obedience to God's commandments. Being obedient allows us to return to our Father in Heaven as a family.

How I live my faith

I love to serve and spend a lot of personal time doing just that. Church related service involves time spent training and keeping accurate records. I love to help those in need. It brings me peace in knowing that I am helping others. The example I am setting will likely create the same passion in others. Because of the example of my mother and brothers I am an eagle scout. I enjoy scouting, have attended wood badge, been a Scoutmaster and have organized a number of day camps teaching basic first aid, knots, cooking, orienteering and other scout skills.
