Hi I'm Victor

I live in Florida, USA. I play the mandolin. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a dad, married for 44 years. All of my kids are grown and on their own. I am a retired law enforcement officer. I played electric bass in a blues band for 10 years. Now I play music as a hobby and I love playing Irish and bluegrass tunes on the mandolin and guitar. I earned a master of arts degree when I was 60 years old, 30 years after I earned my bachelor of arts. My wife and I are retired now and we have received a call to serve a mission. This mission is something that we have been working toward for forty years.

Why I am a Mormon

In the Book of Mormon there is a verse that reads "Wherefore ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of God, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life". (2Nephi 31:20). My membership and service in the Church has indeed given me a brightness of hope for salvation and eternal life through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Redeemer. I have gained a testimony that the fullness of the Gospel has been restored to the earth, and that we have not been left to drift through life in darkness, but that the Light of Christ has been given to all people to light the path that leads to eternal life in the presence of God. Our Heavenly Father speaks to His children through his chosen servants and through the scriptures. Jesus Christ paid the price for sin in behalf of all mankind. He suffered the burden and pain of all of our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane, He was bruised and beaten and nailed to a cross, where He gave up His life as the last great sacrifice for sin. I know and testify that after he was buried in the tomb, that he rose after the third day and ascended to His Father in Heaven. I testify that afterward, He appeared to and gave His gospel to people in the Americas, and that His teaching and His dealing with those people are recorded in the Book of Mormon-Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Through the Book of Mormon, the Holy Bible, other revealed scriptures, and the teachings of modern prophets and apostles, and last but not least, by the power of the Holy Ghost, I have obtained and retained a brightness of hope for salvation and eternal life. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. I serve the Lord by serving others. I have served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and each calling has allowed me the opportunity teach, counsel, and comfort others both spiritually and temporally. I strive to be an instrument in God's hands to bless the lives of the poor in spirit.
