Hi I'm Eric

I am a husband, father, and an elementary school teacher and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband of a beautiful wife and a father of 1 wonderful daughter. I am an elementary school teacher. I love to read non fiction history, go on long walks, and researching genealogy. I also enjoy baking and I am a huge college football fan.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the Lord and have found peace in this church. I have learned the answer to life three critical questions: Where did I come from?, Why am I here?, and Where will I go when I die? I have also learned that families are forever.

How I live my faith

I try to live the best I can. I try to treat others as I hope to be treated. I attend church and try to serve in any way that I can. It is through loving and serving others that I show my love for God.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

We believe in the Bible because it is a record of God's dealings with his people in the old world. The Bible is God's love letter to man. We use the Book of Mormon and our other Mormon scriptures side by side with the Bible. They compliment each other and all of our scriptures including the Bible teach of Jesus and help us live better and try to treat each other as brothers and sisters. They testify of Christ and teach us how to return in peace to God's presence. Show more Show less

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

A Mormon church is where we attend services each week. Everyone is invited. We partake of the sacrament and we learn from each other how to be better people. A temple is a sacred place where members who have matured in the gospel can go to receive ordinances that will enable them to receive additional blessings. Temples are sacred places where families can be united forever. Only members who are living at a high standard may enter. However, the temple is not an exclusive club. We wish all to prepare so that all may enter the temple and receive those same blessings. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

We are Christians! We believe that Jesus was born in Bethlehem. He lived a perfect sinless life where he taught us to love God and one another. He taught us to serve each other and to treat others how we would want to be treated. He suffered and died for our sins. He rose from the dead the third day and appeared to Mary and others. I know he lives and that he is my Savior and my Redeemer. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The Mormon church does not endorse political parties. We believe that we are all children of God. We have our own personal beliefs dictated by our conscience. The church does not tell us how to vote or what political party to join. The church does take positions on moral issues like abortion and marriage. However, we believe in trying to build bridges of understanding to those who disagree with us. We would like to be civil in our discourse with those who disagree. The church teaches correct principals and the people govern themselves. Show more Show less
