Hi I'm Kay

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mom of three outstanding children, have nine grandchildren with the oldest just turning seven! I live weekdays on a small sailboat in Waikiki and weekends in my house on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii. Most of my life has involved moving every couple of years. I have lived in Utah, California, Arizona, Colorado, New Jersey, New York both Long Island and Queens, Illinois, Connecticut, England and for the past ten years Hawaii. I love where I live and intend to be there until I die! I teach and direct a school enrolling young children ages two to six by using the Montessori method - and I love it. I believe the first six years are the most important years in a child's life. I try to run for exercise and meditation, love the beach and find stand up paddle surfing to be something enjoyable.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the Book of Mormon. I have just gone through trials and continue to go through experiences that I never thought I would face. If it wasn't for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and their love for me, I don't know how I would ever continue on. The Book of Mormon is true, it is a guide for our life. It contains answers. It is because of God's love that I am able to accomplish what I do. The Church brings me such joy and happiness that cannot be found anywhere else.

How I live my faith

Throughout my life I have been able to help, learn and grow by serving in various ways. I have worked with the teenage girls for most of my life. I love to go camping with them, and have lost count how many summer girls camps I have helped to plan and attend. Currently I have the opportunity to teach the adult women at our Church.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Kay
The way we dress influences the way we behave. Studies have been made on this and I have also observed this to be true. The best way to teach anything to our children is through our example. If being modest is important to us, generally it will be important to our children. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Kay
Most definitely. We are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are just trying our best to become more like Christ. Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Kay
Tithing is very important. Just look around and you will see all that God has blessed us with. What a beautiful earth we live on. He has given us many talents and blessings. All he asks for in return is 10% of our income. Tithing is a test of our obedience and faith. I know I am blessed when I pay tithing, especially when finances are difficult. I especially recognize these blessing when I fall behind in my tithing and the blessings cease. Life gets very difficult then. I cannot afford not to pay tithing! Show more Show less
