Hi I'm Christy

I'm a stay-at-home mom with two little boys and a third on the way. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with a BA in economics and a minor in Spanish. I work part-time for a small, non-profit research organization that publishes books on macroeconomics, but mostly I'm a stay-at-home mom. I love singing and playing the piano, and I've been singing in various choirs almost continuously since the third grade. I also love playing tennis.

Why I am a Mormon

I find peace and happiness in being a Mormon. Since I was a little child I've believed that we lived with our Heavenly Father before we came to this earth, that we have a purpose here, and that after we die, we will be able to live with Heavenly Father again. I know that we have a prophet now, just like in Bible times. Following his counsel has made my life much easier as I've been able to avoid some of the pitfalls that I might have otherwise encountered, especially in my youth. I believe in the Old and New Testaments, and have found great strength in the teachings they contain. I also know that the Book of Mormon is true, and it provides the answers to many profound questions that we have in life.

How I live my faith

For the past two years, I've been directing our church choir. Although it was a challenge at first, as I had no real experience with directing, I've learned so much, and I really enjoy the music, as well as the singers that I work with. My fellow church members are very accepting of what I have to offer, even as I'm learning. I also teach the adult women one Sunday each month. My lessons relate to the teachings of our prophet and the other leaders of the church. I love serving in the church because it gives me the opportunity to strengthen my abilities and to make many new friends.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mormon missionaries proselyte because our faith brings us so much joy that we would like to offer this to others. Jesus Christ taught us to "feed His sheep," and this is what our missionaries are hoping to achieve as they teach others that life's problems can be overcome, that there is hope in the future, and that God loves and has a plan for each of us.
