In New Nexico I was in the construction business. We moved to Californiain 1968. I joined the Mormon Church in 1972. I have been a Bishop, Stake President and served a full time mission with my wife in Pennslvina for two years. I have been married for 50 years and I am now retired from the commercial insurance business which I was in for about 35 years. I am now involved in commerical real estate ventures in seven states.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Catholic and my wife a Presbyterian. Neither of us felt confortable in each other's religion so we investigated other churches. We were introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Moromons by missionaries sent by a childhood friend of my wife. Both of us felt it was closer to what Jesus taught when He was on this earth and it taught correct principles. We could feel the spirit of Christ in it. It answered all the questions I had about God's desires of us, whcih I felt other religions didn't. The Mormon Church made us feel close to God, and His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. We felt and believe it is really the Church of Jesus Christ as revealed to the His prophet Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

The Mormon Church teaches us to live our lives as taught to us by the Savior Jesus Christ. I try to be of service to my fellowman. I try to love all those that I know. I try to see the other person's point of view. I strive to be honest in all my dealings. I try to live correct principals and be an example to all I come in contact with. I try to be of service to my community. I try to forgive those who hurt me and ask for forgiveness from those I offend. I try to be optimistic and happy about life.

What is being a Mormon like?

Ed Griffith
Being a Mormon is the greatest blessing on earth. The principles we learn help us to become optimistic, happy people. We do not stress from the problems brought on by liquor, smoking, or immorality taught in the world. We live to help others which brings a great deal of happiness to us, as givers. We are very family oriented and do all within our power to help and love everyone in our family. Families are an essential part of God's plan and much of how we live focuses on our families. We want to share the happyiness we enjoy with everyone we can through service, missionry work, and contributing to society. We try to be of service to our community and country in order to make our communities and nation better places to live. The Mormon Church teaches us the Gospel Principles that were given to us by God the Father and His Son, not the interpretation of scripture by man. This helps you feel a closenss to God whenever you read the scriptures. We also have the Book of Mormon to testify that Jesus Christ is our Savior and also testifies to the Gospel Principles taught in the Old and New Testments. Show more Show less
