Hi I'm Tina

I'm a Mormon. I converted September 2009. I live in Colorado.

About Me

I'm a single mom of 3 great kids. I just graduated college a year ago with my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I'm currently looking for a teaching job which is hard due to the economy. I joined the church last September. I love to read for pleasure and I'm an active member of the church. I attend many of the church activities and someday I would like to find my eternal partner.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? What a great question that is actually a long story but I will try to condense it as best as I can. For many years things were happening that I kept believing were conicidental for example: a check coming in the mail just when I needed it the most. After awhile I realized that something else must be the reason for this but I had no one to ask. Last summer I was having a really hard time and I was making poor choices and I started questioning why this was happening. One day while I was at college with my broken down car a missionary from the Mormon church approached me and next thing I knew I was taking missionary lessons and I found my answers to all my questions. I was baptised 2 months later. :

How I live my faith

I attend church regularly and go to many of the activities. I'm the scout leader for the Bear Scouts. I visit teach monthly to women in the church. This is a great way to get to know the sisters women in the church. We visit teach to help each other out and find out what the needs of these church members may need.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

A stake consists of several church buildings in one city or area. The ward is the individual church within the stake. Each building has a different name based on location. If a ward is pretty small it is often called a branch. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Families are very important to us. Heavenly Father wants us to have families as they are a part of his eternal plan. Families do many things together like attend church, go to activities and we also have what's called FHE or Family Home Evening. FHE is a time where families set aside one night a week to pray, sing songs, have a lesson and share a scripture or two and there's usually a snack at the end. Games like Yahtzee or Monopoly can also be played during this time. This a great opportunitry for parents to talk about such issues as dating, peer pressure and many more topics that are important to discuss. Show more Show less
