Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up in the northwestern United States. I am Native American and my tribe is from Oregon. I'm a mom of four. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spend most of my time ensuring that my children are rested, fed, groomed, entertained, educated, happy, healthy, disciplined, and most importantly, knowledgeable of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am blessed to have an amazingly supportive husband in these endeavors, although I am the CEO. Raising a family is the most joyous thing I've ever done in my life and brings me much fulfillment. I am an avid student of politics and I enjoy learning of different points of view on many topics. I very much enjoy sports and running, although I don't have much time to participate in either. My favorite way to spend my time is exploring new parts of the San Francisco Bay Area with my family. I also enjoy attending pow wows and Polynesian functions with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a teenager. Like many people who begin to become familiar with the church I realized that there were a few people throughout my life who were Mormons, and they had all had a positive influence on me. After learning many of the great truths taught by the missionaries, I wanted to be baptized. My testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel was very small at that time, although I knew it was true and that was enough. Since that time my testimony has grown slowly but greatly, and still is growing to this day. There are many things I do not know, many parts of the Gospel that I am still learning about, and I am grateful that I can continue to learn. The connection between what I already have a testimony of and what I am still learning about, is faith. I know this Gospel to be true with everything that is in me, there are no greater blessing than knowing this and having the ability to have your burdens taken on by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I believe that the most important work you can do is within your own home. I teach my children the gospel of Jesus Christ daily, I know doing this will solve any problem that might arise in our home. I am blessed with the opportunity to lead a class of sisters one Sunday a month in a lesson that focuses on important gospel topics. Although I am the one leading the discussion, it happens more often that I am taught by the experiences and love these sisters share. I know it is important to love others and I strive to remember the Savior at all times, and to show love as he would. Although it's easier to go about my business throughout my day I try to make it a point to get to know people around me and understand what their struggles might be and if I can help or even just be a listening ear for them.
