Hi I'm Johelen

Life is good, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in the Midwest. I enjoy my work, and enjoy spending time with my husband. We work in the yard together, and travel a little bit. Our kids are grown.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young there came a time when my family began to struggle to stay together. My father had grown up among Mormons, and he took us to Salt Lake City on a family vacation where we felt something wonderful, something that really brought us together. Six months later we were baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a family.

How I live my faith

I serve in the community two days a week at the local hospital. It's pretty challenging work, but it's satisfying giving something back to the people who have been my neighbors here for many years. I also teach the 10 year olds at church, and work with the Cub Scouts. It's way fun.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

No paid clergy. We watch over each other, we teach each other, we love and encourage one another--as best we can, whatever our abilities and talents are. It's part of belonging. Show more Show less
