Hi I'm Joshua

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The greatest joy of my life is being a husband to my beautiful wife and a father to my three daughters. Having such an amazing family has been such a blessing to me. I am currently a student at Southern Oregon University, pursuing a masters degree in mental health counseling. I plan to enter private practice as a licenced professional counselor, specializing in positive psycholoy interventions for addiction and other mental health issues. In my spare time I enjoy writing, anything from short stories, to poetry. It is a great escape for me. I also enjoy the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ has been the guiding force in my life. I have chosen to be a member of His church in order that I can have true happiness, and a greater understanding of the trials that come in life. As a young man of 12 years old, I felt that it was important for me to seek direction in my life. The guidance of my parents was always strong and true, but it was not until I gained a testimony of my Savior and The Book of Mormon through sincere prayer that I truly understood my life's purpose. The gospel of Jesus Christ has provided me with the knowledge and understanding that guides my everyday choices and actions. I have learned that as I rely upon the arm of my Heavenly Father, He guides me in my path. I know that He answers prayers, and the way has been opened to me to return to Him someday. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is real, and that through the principles of the gospel, true happiness is found. The Book of Mormon contains the fulness of the gospel. The priesthood has been restored. It is the greatest of blessings to be able to use the priesthood on behalf of those I love.

How I live my faith

Currently I serve as a teacher for the mens organization in my local church congergation (ward). I also serve as a ward missionary. It is my responsibility to assist the full-time missionaries in their work to bring others unto Christ through faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, and the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. I also have the responsibility to help individual families with anything they may be struggling with, and to provide them with spiritual help and guidance.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

It is important to know that members of the church recognize that it is only through the grace of our Savior, Jesus Christ, that we can progress toward eternal life. In order to partake of the Savior's grace, we must also do our part. It is through faith and works, through acting as the Savior would act, and speaking as he would speak, that we can partake of all the blessings our Father in Heaven has for us. Show more Show less
