Hi I'm Becky

I grew up in Idaho at the base of the Teton mountain range. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a Mom and Grandma and love to spend time with my family. I love doing Family History Work. It's like detective work to me, hunting down the records that show where my ancestors once lived. It's so exciting!

Why I am a Mormon

I actually grew up a Mormon and I came from a long line of Mormon ancestors. Although I have my "roots" in the Mormon church, I gained my own testimony that I have a Heavenly Father that is very aware of me and loves me. I know that I am not perfect and never will be in this life, but I understand why I am here and the purpose of our being here. We are not here by "chance". I know that I can someday return to my Heavenly Father, who loves me, and that I will be able to spend the eternities with Him, and with my family that has gone on before me, and with my future family members. Our lives do not end here.

How I live my faith

In our church we are "called" to certain positions of teaching or service. We have no "paid" clergy in our church. Our church is divided into smaller groups which we call Stakes, and then each Stake is made up of smaller groups which we call Wards. In our Ward, I have been called to the position of Family History Consultant and Family History Teacher. I help members of our Ward do their Family History work, and I also teach a class on occasion to help them in their research. I love this calling since Family History is something that I love to do anyway!

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Tithing is a principle that has been taught throughout the scriptures. In the Old Testament, Malachi 3:10, it talks about tithing and the blessings that come from obedience to that commandment. As we exercise our faith in God by paying our tithing, our faith will be strengthened as we see the blessings poured down upon us. I also believe that all that we have is given to us from our Heavenly Father. By paying our tithing, we are giving back only a small portion of what He has given to us. Show more Show less
