Hi I'm Stephanie

I'm a wife of a wounded veteran, a mom of two girls and a daughter of God. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a mom of 2 beautiful daughters and a wife of a wonderful man, my hero. My husband is an injured soldier. He was hit by a bomb in Afghanistan in 2007. He should have died. He is a miracle! It took him 2 and a half years at the hospital to recover and 84 surgeries. He lost his leg and still suffers with complications from a broken back. But through it all, he still pushes on! I'm so proud of him. Living at the hospital for that long was the biggest trials of our lives. But it was the biggest blessing as well. We know that this trial is ours to get through and it is our pleasure. We have been so blessed. We only had 1 girl when he was injured, and afterwards, the doctors said that he wouldn't be able to have children anymore. In 2010 we had our second girl! She is a miracle too! A wonderful organization called Homes for our Troops built us a handicap accessible house. With my husband's injuries, he will be in a wheelchair off and on his whole life. This house gives him the independence that he and I both need. It's another great miracle!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life, but I am constantly working on my conversion. Being a member of this church means so much to me! I have personally felt the strain of sin and the hope of the Atonement. I KNOW the Christ lives and that He loves us infintely! The first time my testimony of the truth of this church started when I was a teenager. I was learning about Joseph Smith and all his trials he went through, yet he had pure faith. The Spirit touched my heart and I knew that it was true. Joseph Smith really was called of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ to start The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints! And since I believed that, I knew that the Book of Mormon is scripture! It truly is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. I absolutely know with all my heart that this church is true! We do have a modern-day prophet, like those of old, leading us and being the mouthpiece of Christ. I know that revelation comes to him and can come to us, because I have felt it! Living the principles of the Gospel and enduring to the end will help us live with Heavenly Father again someday!! I want that with all my soul, and I am trying to do it! I say these things, in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen!

How I live my faith

I love going to church each week and learning of Christ and serving others. I try to live the Gospel though the entire week and teach my daughters to do the same. I visit some women in the Ward every month, which I love to do! The way I try and do these things is I'll ask myself, What would Jesus do? If I ask this, then the Holy Ghost can direct me which way to go. My biggest struggle right now is teaching my girls how to live the Gospel in these very hard times. We have to stand strong, or the devil will pull us down fast. If I pray and read my scriptures every day, that helps me have His guidance throughout the day. And when I do this, I can set a good example for my girls!
