Hi I'm Judy

I'm from Bermuda. I was baptized in the ocean. I married, have 7 children and 27 grandchildren. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Bermuda. The missionaries came and taught our family and we were all baptized on a pretty little beach in the Atlantic ocean. I moved to SLC Utah when I was old enough to leave home. I met and married the man of my dreams in the Manti Temple. We settled in Sigurd Utah his home town. I love singing and playing the guitar. We raised 7 beautiful children who all sing and are very musically talented. I also worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant In a hospital. We now have 27 beautiful grandchildren. Life is good to us. We love the Savior and enjoy working to help build the kingdom. We are looking forward to serving a mission in Russia and getting to know and love the people their.

Why I am a Mormon

Two young missionaries came to our home bringing the wonderful plan of happiness which they shared with me and my family. Even though it took months of teaching us, their message rang true in my heart. When asked to pray about these teachings, I knew it was all true. I knew the church was true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God, to restore his gospel to the earth again. I knew the Book of Mormon was really the word of God, and that it went hand in hand with the Holy Bible. I had some very dear friends that actually turned against me because we joined the church. In school they would go out of their way to shun me when they saw me. I was very lonely that year in school. It was hard. But I had my family to support me through the hard time. Once you know the church is true you want to go out and share it with others. It truly is the plan of happiness. Elder Packer said "The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ has the nourishing power to heal starving spirits of the world." It is true. It shows us the path we need to take to be able to return to our loving Heavenly Father. I know the church is true and that if you ask any member of our church to help you learn more about it, your life will be richly blessed. You will have direction in your life. You will come to understand that the deeps questions in your heart have answers that are only found in the teachings of our church. The Lord loves each of his children and wants you to succeed in life and return to live with him once more. Seek out this plan. It will bring joy, happiness and direction into your life. I promise you this. I am truly glad that I have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life

How I live my faith

I currently enjoy working in our church with the women's organization. I am over the monthly meeting where we have classes or activities that teach the women homemaking skills or humanitarian activities such as making quilts for area's in the world that are in great need. We have classes on health care, how to do family history, gardening, food preservation and so much more. We cover many subjects that help the sisters in our area become well rounded women. In the past, I had the privilege of working with the young children in their classes. I was the music leader. It was so much fun teaching them the beautiful children's songs in our church. They have beautiful messages such as…" I am a child of God" and "Families can be together forever". I worked for a time with the cub scouts, which is a big program in our church. This program helps guide these young boys as they grow into young men. Working with the young women in our church was a wonderful experience too. I have always been a Visiting Teacher. We visit sisters in their homes and try to spiritually and emotionally uplift and serve them. Visiting with a message of love and caring is a great joy. I love the Lord, I love this church and I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve and share Gods love for all his children.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Judy
Absolutely, It is sacred holy scripture written by his holy prophets. The Book of Mormon we also consider to be holy scripture, another testament of Jesus Christ. With the Book of Mormon along side the Bible, the doctrines in the Bible are understood more fully and cannot be twisted and turned with the interpretation of anyone comes along. The Bible and Book of Mormon go hand in hand as sacred scripture. Show more Show less
