Hi I'm DeMarr Zimmerman

I'm a Mormon. Me and my wife live in Kaysville Utah and love traveling. I am an avid fly fisher and love fly fishing.

About Me

I love to fly fish and enjoy the outdoors. My father was an avid fly fisher and that is where I get my love of the sport. Before he passed away in the hospital he grabbed my arm and said, "DeMarr, go fly fish the great rivers of the world and I will be there." The last 5 years I have been fishing the rivers I knew my dad loved and I have truly filt my dad many times on the river. I have a wonderful wife and 4 children and 7 grandson. Our children are married and have given us great joy. I have been is sales for most of my married life. I am now an independent contractor for a global company and this allows me to spend time with my family and allows me to study and learn the gospel of Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

At age 19, I was a member of the Mormon church, but I was not active. A man named Marv Loar gave me gave me a Book of Mormon and told me to read it. He said, “Read it! It’s about a bunch of Indians that use to run around half naked like you 2000 years ago!” He wrote this on the inside… “DeMarr, Please accept this book as a token of the love and esteem I have for you and your family. You are a special person with a great mission in life. It will take all the humility and faith you can muster, to enable you to accomplish all Heavenly Father sent you here to do. You have some severe trials ahead of you, but you’re made of the stuff that can take it and do it. I have great faith in you, and feel very strongly you have great spiritual potential, if you only pay the price necessary to develop it. God bless you will the courage and determination you need to make your righteous dreams a reality. Always call on me if I can help! Love ya, Marv Back of the book P.S. ----- Keep Smilin “Sweet Cheeks!” When the time comes that you feel everything’s gone and you’re ready to dump the whole act ------ Remember! ------ that’s the time when the Lord’s preparing you for greater and better things. That’s the way He works. The darkest hour is always just before the dawn. The Gospel is True! Hang in there----- Marv” I started to read the book and prayed to know if what I was reading was true. The Lord answered my pray. The testimony of Marv Loar's testimony and the Book of Mormon has changed my life forever!"

How I live my faith

I enjoy technology because it has allowed me to study more freely. I can take my phone, ipad or laptop and pull up the scriptures and virtually study almost anywhere. I teach gospel doctrine in sunday school to the adult members of our church in our local area.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

DeMarr Zimmerman
The official name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The word Mormon refers to an ancient prophet found it the Book of Mormon who lived in the American continent over 2000 year ago. A discretion of these anceint people is found in the Book of Morman.
