Hi I'm Micah

I grew up in Las Vegas, have lived in France, and Guatemala, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born in Las Vegas Nevada as the second oldest in a family of nine children, and two great parents. Among other things my parents taught me that I could do anything I want with my life, that God is real, and that there is a purpose to living here on earth. When I turned 19 I served a volunteer mission for my church in Paris, France for two years, where I taught people about Christ, and his love for us today. Shortly after returning to the USA I started spending a lot of time with a beautiful girl named Joanna whom I had known previously, but never associated much with. We were married, for all eternity, in 1997. After having three kids, we moved to Utah in 2001, where we had a fourth child. Since then we have adopted three children, and experienced many miracles associated with that. We now live in Utah, and have a happy, busy family of 7 growing children where we try to create positive memories and learning experiences. I work in real estate and have done everything from asset consulting with large firms, to real property development, and am currently running my own real estate firm. I have learned that my parents were right. I can be anything I want, God is real, and there is a great plan for our lives here on earth!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a family of Mormons, and decided to be baptized when I was eight years old. Sense that time I have studied, and learned much about Jesus Christ, His sacrifice, and plan for me. I have felt the mercy of God in my life, and do all that I can to follow him, so that one day I might, through His grace, return to live with him, and my family forever. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, commonly referred to as "The Mormons" contains every element of Gods plan for His children to return to him. I have felt His love for me, and know that His true church is on the earth today, with prophets, and apostles, who communicate with Him and give us direction, the same as in biblical times. Being born in the church I do not have a singular event that I can point to that transformed my life and made me believe this church is true. Rather, I have gained a testimony of its truth by doing as Christ instructed in John 7:17 "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself."

How I live my faith

Currently, I have been asked by my local church leaders to reach out to people who are not "Mormon" living in our neighborhood. To make sure that, as a community, we work together to help each other, and when the occasion arises, to be prepared to discuss our beliefs. I also have the opportunity to help people in my neighborhood, who have questions about life, death, and other important topics find answers through the scriptures. In the past I have served in various ways. I have worked with the youth in my neighborhood guiding them, answering questions, teaching them, assisting them with Boy Scouts. I have been a teacher of adults several times. I have assisted with the organization of Sunday meetings. I have been a full time, and a part time missionary, and worked with the church in many other capacities.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We believe that God is our eternal Father, and as such cares about each of us individually. He is perfect, immortal, and loving. He wants us to be happy in this life, and after we die. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is an ancient record, written by Prophets of God who lived on the American continent. It is similar to the Holy Bible, in that it is a record of God's dealing with his people. Translated by a modern day prophet, Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon acts as another witness of Jesus Christ, and an additional place to study His Gospel. The name "Mormon" comes from a prophet / historian who lived on the American continent and who was commanded by God to make an abridgment of hundreds of years of writings of other prophets who had taught the people, and written scriptures. In the Book of Mormon we can learn many things, and find answers to some of life's greatest questions, such as - Is there a God? - What does Jesus Christ expect of me? - How can a belief in Jesus Christ help me? - Is there life after death? - What is the purpose of life? - Why does God allow evil and suffering to occur? - Does my infant need to be baptized? - Does God know me? - Does God answer prayers? - How can I find peace and joy? - How can my family be happier and more united? - How can I balance my family and career? - How can I strengthen my relationship with my spouse? - How can I avoid the evils that threaten my family? - How can I avoid sin? The Book of Mormon has changed my life. I have read it many times, and have prayed to God to know if it is true. God has answered my prayers. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

When I served as a missionary for the church we talked to people who had questions about life, questions about God, people who wondered why the world was so hard. We shared our knowledge of God's plan for us, His children. How He loves us, and wants us to learn about Him. We taught people about the atonement of Christ. How he died for us, that we might live with God again. We taught that the gospel of Christ can be a real part of our everyday lives. We taught about how Gos loves ALL of His children, and has talked to people around the world, and at different times in world history, through his prophets. That he has a prophet today who communicates Gods will to us. That He loves us today as much as His Children who lived in biblical times. We taught about the importance of families, and how God has made it so that we can be together again with our families after this life, by following His gospel. Show more Show less
