Hi I'm Karen Duvall

Recently married, finishing my Bachelors of Art, living simply and learning how to become an eternal family day by day.

About Me

Together we love living it up here in small town Idaho as we go to school, to get degrees, to get jobs, to support ourselves as a family. We have and constantly live crazy, busy lives. We love playing in the dirt, hiking, being in the great outdoors, road tripping, baking and eating yummy food, cheering for each other and occasionally our favorite team of the year. We love every spare second we get to spend with each other and cuddle up to a good movie -- if I don't fall asleep. We like making silly faces, say stupid things on occasion, love reading scriptures together before going to bed, burping rather loud after good meals and taking lots of random pictures of the things we sporadically do. We love life, and we love each other. And we love the people who have influenced our lives. We're embarking on this wonderful journey of becoming an eternal family one day at a time.

Why I am a Mormon

As I said, being a member all my life hasn't been easy. It's for sure been full of it's ups and downs. I don't think I truly strengthened. my own personal and true testimony that this church was where I needed to be. I knew I always had a testimony through small experiences. But after my first year and a half of schooling, I was home for my winter break. I had been struggling with a lot of things that I didn't feel I could balance anymore. I didn't feel like I was measuring up to the things I was involved in and those thoughts brought me down a lot. It got to the point to where I was questioning what I was doing here and if I really had a purpose. I even had questioned if I should've even gone back to school the next semester. One day, I came into work earlier than normal to start up to coffee brewers for the cafe that I worked at. I checked all the stations and as I did; I found a tattered LDS pass-along card. On the front of the card, was a picture of Jesus Christ with children around him. On the back of the card. were the 13 Articles of Faith (common beliefs of the Church, written by Joseph Smith to a newspaper). As I re-read those Articles of Faith, I felt peace at knowing those things were true. I put that small, seemingly worthless card back in my pant pocket and there it stayed as a simple reminder to me ever since that my Heavenly Father knew the thoughts going through my mind. He wanted me to remember who I was and that I, too was being watched over in small ways. Just like me, you can know who you are and you're plan here. It's in your reach. Go grab it.

How I live my faith

Being a member all of my life, it hasn't always been easy, but I can say that it has always been worth it. Through the knowledge of my Savior , and for His atoning sacrifice for me along with the knowledge to know that I can return with Him and be like Him. To have the strength to know that I do, indeed have a purpose on this Earth and that I am here and who I am for a reason and that nothing was a coincidence; Simply helps me understand the greater plan behind it all. So, I live my faith every day as I wake up doing the best that I can and knowing that all of my efforts are never wasted. I continually work to endure, knowing that I always will have my support system. You do too. It's a great support that we all have, we just have to accept it.
