Hi I'm Natalie.

I'm a Marylander, a mother, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a stay at home mother of a three year old and an eighteen month old. I love spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors, reading, and crafting.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon home with parents who truly lived what they believed. The gospel always felt right, but in my early teenage years I entered that questioning age and knew I had to find out for myself if it was true. I began to pray with more purpose and sincerity and study the Book of Mormon as well as the Bible and other words of scripture. As I read the Book of Mormon I gained a strong understanding of my Savior and his atonement and felt his love. It gave me an incredible sense of worth and I knew that God knew me and had a plan for my life. Also, as I listened to the prophet and apostles speak at our biannual conferences, I could feel the sweet peace of the Spirit saying, "These men are really called of God." The messages they shared felt solid and true, so distinct from the wavering ideas of the world. My faith continued to grow as I nurtured it and tried to live the principles of the Gospel. I saw how those choices blessed my life. Line upon line, precept upon precept I have come to know that this Gospel is true. It feels like home because it comes from our real home, our Heavenly Father. Because of it I know who I am and why I'm on this earth.

How I live my faith

Right now at church I teach nursery and help with the organization of a system whereby ladies in the ward are assigned to visit each other, so that we can know each others' needs and help each other out. It feels good to serve!

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes! Much of the Christian world does not recognize us as such because of 1. our view of the Godhead and 2. our acceptance of scripture and revelation beyond the Bible. In my opinion, the best explanation to those two points was given by Jeffrey R. Holland in the articles "The Only True God and Jesus Christ Whom He Hath Sent," http://lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?hideNav=1&locale=0&sourceId=00d51b3e50cf5110VgnVCM100000176f620a____&vgnextoid=f318118dd536c010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD, and "My Words...Never Cease," http://lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?hideNav=1&locale=0&sourceId=ab64279c7c699110VgnVCM100000176f620a____&vgnextoid=f318118dd536c010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD.
