Hi I'm Erin

I'm a California girl. I'm a world traveler. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a musician and I currently teach elementary school music. I play the piano and the trumpet, and I love listening to all types of music. I also participate in a group called Millennial Choirs and Orchestras, which is an organization with the goal to enhance the musical education and experiences of our local communities. I love to be active and to participate in all kinds of sports and outdoor activities, especially hiking and bicycling. I love to travel and to learn new languages because there are so many different kinds of people and cultures in our world, and learning about them makes me much more open-minded and aware of how awesome our global community is! I also enjoy baking, cooking, and trying new foods. I was born and raised in Southern California and am so grateful to be able to call it my home.  I believe that one of the greatest things we can do with our lives is to work to help others feel Heavenly Father's love for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family, which has been a huge blessing in helping me to develop my own faith in Jesus Christ, but I still had to have my own personal conversion to the truth of this restored church. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints brings me happiness and hope in this life, and it brings me closer to Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. As I have continued to live the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ found in this church, my life has been richly blessed, and I have felt the love of my Heavenly Father in my every-day life.

How I live my faith

I am currently in charge of communications in my congregation, which includes sending out weekly emails and text messages about activities, greeting people each Sunday at church, and helping other members of the congregation to get necessary information. I also serve as the organist for our Sacrament services on occasion, and I have accompanied and led various church choirs. I love the continuous opportunities for service this church provides and how the combined efforts of all of our members can produce great things and help bless the lives of others.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Our current prophet is Thomas S. Monson. He acts as the leader of our church here on the earth, and he is directed by Jesus Christ through revelation. Prophets are so important because they receive guidance and direction from God and help the members of Christ's church to stay strong, to know the will of God, and to resist the persecutions of Satan. What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

I make time every day to study the scriptures, and this habit has brought so much peace and guidance into my life. Each study session brings me closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and my faith and trust in Their promises increases as I read of how they have kept their promises to their children in the scriptures. I know that if I follow the teachings of the scriptures that I can receive the same blessings and protection given to people anciently as recorded in the scriptures. Show more Show less
