Hi I'm Cody

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live a wonderful life. I currently am a managing director of a community live theater. In the winter I teach skiing. I love to mountain bike, backpack, and scuba dive. I have a fantastic wife who loves to do all of this too. We have five amazing and talented children and nine grandchildren. We all have SO much fun together. I can't imagine a better life.

Why I am a Mormon

There is no better way to live your life than through the teachings of this church. God's commandments are not here to limit us. They are here to exalt us. They point us to the happiest way to live. Breaking God's commandments only lead to heartache and misery. I want the best life I can have. I've looked at other religions and they all have their good points, but the Mormons have it all. And to top it all off, their teachings are absolutely true. I've had countless personal experiences that verify this.

How I live my faith

When you become a member of this church you are given "the gift of the Holy Ghost." This is like the ultimate technology. It tells you how to live your life. It's similar to your "conscience" but much more. It helps guide your thoughts and actions and the decisions that you make. It works best when you're trying to be your best. I can pray for guidance at any time and its influence will give me the knowledge that I need at that moment. I try to live so that I can have the Holy Ghost with me always. As I do so, I become a better and happier person.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

I don't know why I picked such a difficult question to answer, but as a person heavily involved in the "live theater" business, I've made friends with many people with same sex attraction. I love them dearly. During the Proposition 8 unrest in California, Mormons were targeted as haters of homosexuals. Any Mormon who hates anyone isn't living their religion. We simply believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. We also believe in absolute fidelity before and after marriage. Any sexual act outside the bonds of marriage is serious sin. It's one of God's commandments. The breaking of this commandment leads to misery and broken homes. We love all people. We just don't want to see them get hurt by breaking God's commandments. There have to be laws that govern the universe. Without them, there would be chaos. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

The family is essential to the nurturing and growth of children and is our support group throughout life. The world today is trying to destroy the family as we know it through immorality and alternative life styles. I have been extremely fortunate to have come from a very happy home. I love my brother and sisters. We love and support each other. But even more so is my own wife, children and grandchildren. They bring me more joy than I can say. And as Mormons we believe this love and support group can last into the eternities. Show more Show less
