Hi I'm Tricia

I am a mother of six who homeschools and is getting ready to go back to school myself! I'm a mormon!

About Me

I homeschool my kds, keep them busy in 4H, Scouting, church activities, service projects, sports such as rugby, baseball, horseback riding, dog agility, soccer, gymnastics, and more! I love to garden, read, cook, run and have fun! I am just getting ready to start school myself and further my own education! I'm not sure how I am going to get it all done! I love to learn new things, anything from a recipe to a new scientific discovery! My kids have many talents and hobbies and enjoy sewing, photography, electronics, computer programming ( also called trying to hack their mom's computer passwords!!) and more. Love of learning is important and I try to keep a good sense of humor... sometimes maybe my humor goes underappreciated by my family :)

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a mormon? The happiness and peace I feel from the knowledge this church has given me is irreplaceable in my life. People alwys ask me why I am so happy. I always tell them its the testimony of the restored gospel that brings me joy. The parts of my life that are important to me, such as family, personal relationship with God, serving others, and getting through tough times, are all addressed and made meaningful to me. No longer do I see a major challenge in life and wonder why. I already know God has a plan for me and through Him I can get through anything. Being taught to think eternally minded has allowed me to not sweat the small stuff! Life isn't about the here and now, it is much bigger than anything we can imagine! If we open our hearts and minds to Him, he will fill us with so much love we cant be anything other than happy! When I am having a tough time and start feeling depressed, I remind myself to open up to God, He will never leave us, He always there. It is us who turn from Him. I know without the church and it's teachings my children would not be the amazing people they are turning out to be. When God leads your life on a daily basis, you can't go wrong!!!

How I live my faith

In my church I have enjoyed many opportunities to serve the Lord and learn from others. I love being with the youth! The young men and women of our church are amazing. They give so much of their time and talents to good works and share their talents so freely I am always inspired. Whenever I prepare a lesson to teach, I always feel like they end up teaching me more. I love the scouting program my boys participate in and love to see the personal growth they achieve through challenging themselves to do hard things and the hours and hours of service they give to others. One key component to happiness is serving others. When we are concerned about the welfare of others, our own lives and pronblems seem better. That usually occurs because we take our minds off ourselves and focus on helping someone else, just as Christ would do! My love and belief of Jesus Christ is something I love to share!

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

I love all of God's children. It makes no difference to me if you are gay or straight. I base my friendships and relationships on the type of human you are are how you treat others. I dont judge you based on your choices. I do however believe that marriage is a sacred privilage and should be between a man and a woman. I really believe that homosexuality is real, they do have same sex attraction and they don't get to choose those feelings. What you do get to choose is how you act on them. Choosing to follow Gods laws is the only way to return to Him. I know God loves His gay children just as much as His straight children, but he has set laws and ordinances that I know will lead us back to Him. If you want to return to live in His company, you must follow all of His commandments. One of His commandments is to have eternal marrige, and that can only be done between a man and a woman. I pray for hearts to soften and understanding and help to ensue. Show more Show less
