Hi I'm Lucy

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in California, became a school teacher, wife, and mother. The gospel makes it all meaningful.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. After graduating from college I taught school for a couple of years until my first child was born. While they were growing up, my favorite things to do surrounded my family--family outings, school activities, homemaking, and gardening. Now that I am a grandmother, I enjoy doing those same things with my grandchildren. They are treasures to me just as my children have been.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I really believe it is the true church here on earth. Its teachings have helped me all my life, especially its teachings about Jesus and my Heavenly Father and the plan of salvation for me and my loved ones. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives meaning and hope for this life and the next.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to see people as Jesus and Heavenly Father do. I try to treat my family members with respect and love and forgiveness, trying to create a heaven on earth in my home. In my community I try to help in any way I can. There are always so many needs, so I try to make a difference in small ways. Whether I am working with students I teach, a salesperson, or the neighbor down the street, I try to show respect and sincere friendship.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

I am so thankful for a living prophet, President Monson. He is a kind and loving person, and I enjoy his messages which are always full of wonderful stories and counsel that will help guide me in my life. I know that he is inspired by God in the counsel he gives, and I am thankful for him. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

The purpose of life is to have joy in this beautiful world and become the best people we can become. Hopefully, that will include the blessings of marriage and having children. My greatest joy comes through my family. Life also becomes more meaningful if we are anxiously engaged in endeavors that are good for mankind and ourselves. It seems that part of the purpose of life is to have a purpose in life, not to wander about without direction. Show more Show less
