Hi I'm Tanya

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, also Known as Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful man, and a mother of 4 children. I love music and how it can lift the spirit and the soul. I play the piano a bit, but my true love is the clarinet. I love to read, cross stitch, scrapbook, do genealogy, and visit with my family, I also like to play computer games with my sisters. I graduated with a degree in nursing and specialized in Newborn Intensive Care Nursing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but I have always felt that this church is true. I have and continue to learn and love the gospel as I have grown. I know with in my heart that this church has the answers to life's great questions, and brings comfort in times of Need. The church teaches and preaches about the divinity of Jesus Christ and the only way to Salvation is through him and his great atonement.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in three different positions in the church. I am a visiting teacher. A visiting teacher is assigned a companion and as a partnership we are assigned 2 to 3 different women to visit and befriend with visits at least once a month. This is to help and love the women in the church so we can care for each other, share burdens, and uplift with gospel messages. By doing so we can learn to be God's hands and serve others with love and charity. I teach in the primary. Primary is where the basics of the gospel of Jesus Christ is taught to our young children. I am currently teaching the 6 year olds turning 7. My course of study is focusing on learning to Choose the Right, and teaching about the life and teachings of the Saviour. The Saviour loved little children so much and this is a calling where I can try to share with my little class the love the Saviour would have for each of them. I also am a cub scout leader. I am in charge of the bear den, and my goal is to help these young boys complete requirements to achieve the rank of bear, and to help them learn character and to be good citizens in the neighborhood, city, and country. I have also taught lessons in the women's organization, played piano for meetings, and have been a chorister in leading hymn singing. I also believe that living my faith extends to my role outside of church. I try to be a good neighbor, be a good example, and help those around me in need as much as possible. I firmly believe that I can be an example of what it means to be a good neighbor and live how the Saviour did to the best of my ability.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Increasing our Faith in Jesus Christ can take many steps. For many that desire to believe maybe the first step, while those who do believe can find great joy as they come to understand the role of Jesus Christ and feel the the power of the atonement work on their life. Early steps to know and increase that faith can include the following. Study the scriptures, not just the wonderful writing in the New Testament, but the prophecies and stories that teach us of Christ in the Old Testament. Additionally Study the Book of Mormon and pay attention to how often it talks of Christ and the power of the Atonement. The Doctrine and Covenants also teaches of Christ and the love he has for us as we strive to live a Christ like and charitable life. Pray, pray to know Christ, pray to feel the Spirit of God directing you in your life. To communicate with God is to learn of Him and His Son. By doing so you can find Christ in your life. Act upon thoughts that would lead you to do good. Action is to learn how Christ lived and loved. Show more Show less
