Hi I'm Jason Coots

I am a truck driver, a father and step-father to wonderful children, married to the most wonderful woman and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I drive a semi-truck for a living and I love to travel around and see all of God's wonderful creations. I love the outdoors but it's hard to find the time to get out and enjoy it with all that life throws at me. But when I do get the opportunity, I love every minute of it. I don't have very many hobbies and I am getting up in age where I may need to start a "bucket list" in order to enjoy some other interest before it gets to late. Growing up a wanted to be an architect but things didn't quite workout. I am happy with my career choice because I chose it and its something I like to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. My father is 4th generation Mormon. My mother is a convert to the Church, she was baptized when she was 21 yrs old and before she met my father. I was baptized when I was eight years old. I will admit that this made it a little easier for me to accept the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and become a Mormon. Eventually, we all must grow our own testimony of Jesus Christ and of His restored gospel and be converted. I am a Mormon because I chose to be. I chose to be a Mormon because my life has been so blessed with having a greater understanding of the purpose of this life. This life has enough uncertainty and having just a little bit of an edge in knowing who I am, who I can become, and where I will go after this life is enough for me to carry on. I don't have all the answers but I know I have a loving and caring Heavenly Father who does and wants to share them with me and with anyone who wishes to know for themselves. It is still a daily struggle to live in a world where there is uncertainty, immorality, and wickedness but having the understanding of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ helps me get through each day, one day at a time. I am a Mormon because this is where the fulness and truthfulness of the gospel can be found.

How I live my faith

My faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ touches every aspect of my life. There is nothing in my life that hasn't been affected by my faith in Jesus Christ or as a member of this Church. I learned the gospel line upon line, precept upon precept throughout my youth. I'm still learn that way today and I teach my children about the gospel the same way. I serve as the local leader of a medium size congregation and I need the guidance of Heavenly Father to serve Him and the members living here. The guidance I receive comes through constant studying, continuous prayer, and living my life in harmony with the commandants of God. It is not easy to live my faith in a world that is slowly losing faith and belief in Jesus Christ. I enjoy the friendships of all who believe in Jesus Christ no matter their faith and I cherish the friendships created with those who share the same faith as I do in this gospel.
