Hi I'm Jason Underwood

I am a Paramedic / Fireman for Greater Salt Lake Unified Fire Authority, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Paramedic / Fireman working for Greater Salt Lake Unified Fire Authority, but I am so much more than just a Fireman. I am married to my best friend, we have two wonderful children. I love being a Dad, and working hard for my Family. I love to play hard too, restoring and driving my "LBC's" - Little British Cars. I have restored two MG Midgets and am working on the third. Spending time with my wife and kids makes life so complete.

Why I am a Mormon

Over two thousand years ago a miraculous event occurred in the most humble of circumstances. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born. It took a lot of years for me to really understand the significance of this miracle. For a long time my Savior was a being that I couldn’t really understand or feel as if I could be close to. I was taught by goodly parents about my Savior, his role in my life, and his purpose for all of us. I understood his Atonement, that I could ask my Heavenly Father in prayer for forgiveness of my sins. And through my Saviors Atonement I could be forgiven for my trespasses. I believed these things, but it took a lot of trial and error on my part to have a true understanding of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus suffered for me in Gethsemane; I have felt his forgiving spirit in my life. I utilize the forgiving power of the Atonement, and know that this power is real. But I have also learned that the power of the Atonement is so much more than just a vehicle for forgiveness. I turn to my Savior on a daily bases for so many things. Christ suffered for me so that he could know me. He knows my every thought, feeling, and emotion. In knowing me this way, I can turn to him for anything. I can lay at his feet all of my emotion, knowing that he can help me figure out my feelings. I have witnessed my Savior helping me though the most difficult times of my life. I can’t express the gratitude I have for my Saviors Atonement. Allowing me to leave the nightmares of this life at his feet and he will take them away so I don’t have to pack them anymore. There isn’t a greater gift than this! I know that my Savior lives. He is my brother, my friend. Christ is always there for me, waiting for me to utilize his Atonement. By doing this I become closer to him, feeling of his love for me. I bare my witness that these things are true, that the power of the Atonement is real.

How I live my faith

My father taught me two important lessons: Work hard for your family; Serve hard for your Heavenly Father. I have found by doing these two things life has meaning and happiness.
