Hi I'm Ken

I ride a Harley Davidson in the summer, teach skiing in the winter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I learned to love riding big motorcycles when I was a motorcycle policeman. I finally reached the point in life 14 years ago where I could take the time away from my business to teach skiing in the winter. I am a range safety officer at my local shooting range and I teach defensive handgun courses. My family is the center of my life. I am trying to be like Jesus.

Why I am a Mormon

I fell in love with a young woman who was committed to following Christ. I had to ask myself some big questions. Is there a God? Does he care about us? Does he have a plan for us? What is the plan? I began to read the scriptures. I began to pray. At first that felt like talking to the wall, but after a while it felt like talking to a loving father. I began to believe and then to know that a loving Father in Heaven has a plan of happiness for us, and that all of the human family are His children, we are all brothers and sisters. P. S. I married that young woman 37 years ago.

How I live my faith

I try to think about the Savior and what He did for us in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the Cross each week as I take the Sacrament. I teach Sunday School to the adults in our local congregation. I try to do a little better, and be a little better each day as I try to walk the path that Jesus walked.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Paul taught us in 1 Corinthians 11:11 "Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord." Each has a vital and critical role to play in families here on earth and later, in heaven. Neither is above the other. Important decisions are made together. My wife is my best friend. whatever good I have accomplished in life is through her example, encouragement, and support. I want to be with her forever, and I can be because our marriage is not just "until death do you part." We were married "for time and for all eternity" in one of the temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, by a person who held the same keys of sealing that the apostle Peter held when Jesus told him, "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
