Hi I'm John

I joined the Mormon Church when I was 32. Since retiring, I do volunteer work for the Church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I worked in information systems for 37 years. Since retiring, my wife and I moved to be near our grandkids. Now we can see them frequently. I love to sing and do lots of volunteer work.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in another faith, but never really understood their doctrine. When I was 32, I started to investigate the Mormon Church and invited the missionaries into my home. Everything the missionaries shared with me rang true, and as I prayed about it, I could feel a warmth about it that made me feel good. Since then, I've had many experiences which have confirmed to me that Jesus Christ is guiding this church.

How I live my faith

Every day, I pray to my Heavenly Father to help me to lead my life in accordance with His plan for me. My wife and I work with the Church's Addiction Recovery Program and love to see people turn their lives around and feel how Jesus' Atonement has paid the price for their mistakes.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

John
The Mormon missionaries will discuss with you about our relationship with Jesus Christ and God, our Eternal Father, and how important you are to them - how they love every person on earth, and want us to find joy. They will talk with you about the purpose of life and what will happen when we pass on. They will talk about the importance of families. They will ask you to pray about the topics you discuss to see for yourself if what you hear is true. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

John
I beliefe that Joseph Smith was a modern-day prophet, just as Moses and Abraham were prophets of the Old Testament. I believe that he was inspired by Got and had prophesies pertenant to our times. As such, I revere him, but I do not worship him. Show more Show less
