Hi I'm Ben

I'm a husband and a father. I'm a pediatric physical therapist. I'm an aspiring do-it-yourselfer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to a wonderful woman who daily confirms to me that she is perfect for me. When I asked her to marry me I could not have known how amazing she is and that she would daily inspire me for the rest of my life. I am a father of 3 beautiful boys, but I don't plan on being done yet. I am a pediatric physical therapist and every day I teach a child something they have never done before and rejoice with their parents with every miracle I witness. I love to read books and often become absorbed in them. I love to play with my kids. I enjoy sports and being active. I enjoy the satisfaction that comes from working with my hands to build something or maintain something in my house or yard, and like to enjoy the benefits of being more self reliant. I feel like a very normal person with nothing about me that is inspiring, in fact, I often get frustrated that I have weaknesses that prevent me from being amazing. However, recently I have determined that I will let Heavenly Father make more of me than I can by myself and as I turn to him that he will make my weaknesses become strengths.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to loving parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They taught me the truths of the gospel and I knew they were true from an early age. Before high school I lived in a place where I was surrounded by others of my faith and could see the blessings of being a member of the church, but I don't think I appreciated what I had until I moved to a place where I was the only member of the LDS church in my high school. I was challenged daily, both directly and indirectly, with why I was a Mormon. I questioned everything I believed and turned to my Heavenly Father in prayer. I gained a very real relationship with my Father in Heaven and he confirmed to me that it was all true. I know that Christ's church is restored to the earth and that prophets and apostles speak to God as they did in the Bible. I know that He is my father and knows me and loves me as I love my children--unconditionally. I know that His greatest desire for me is to return to be with Him and my family for eternity. I know that I can enjoy those blessings only through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I think it is funny to tell people that I go to church for 3 hours every Sunday. They are always surprised that I can spend so much time at church and actually like it. I really enjoy the time I spend each week at church and being involved in my church. I know that Heavenly Father gives us opportunities to learn things that we need in our life, allows us to utilize our time and talents to bless the lives of others, and uses us despite our weaknesses to do our part to build his kingdom on earth.
